A solid buy if you want to learn basic Korean expressions

As the title of the book suggests, this book is about Korean expressions and phrases used in everyday situations like talking on the phone, greetings, congratulating someone etc. Every expression is explained with regards to the type of situation in which the expression is used and how one would go about using it. This is very helpful and gives more confidence in using an expression as opposed to just giving an English equivalent. The literal meaning of an expression is sometimes given which is also helpful, at least if you're learning Korean. For some expressions both a deferential (formal) style and a polite (less formal) style of the expression is given, which enables you to use the expression in different social settings. Every chapter ends with example dialogues and a dialogue used for practicing where you fill in the blanks with the appropriate expressions.
The book doesn't use romanization, so if you're not familiar with Hangul, the Korean alphabet, this book isn't for you. On my Kindle version of the book the dialogues pop up twice, but once I got used to this glitch I didn't find it much of a nuisance. If you're in need of a quick reminder of an expression you have to look it up using the chapter index since the book doesn't provide a vocabulary list. Something I feel the book is lacking.
All in all, this book is a solid buy if you know Hangul and want to learn basic Korean expressions while getting some helpful information about how and when to use them.
